Why i’ve started blogging again
POSTED AT 11:57 on 18th December 2006
I thought that I should post something quick about why I have started blogging again and what I hope to achieve. Taking after Guy Kawasaki and the love of the Digg users for lists, here’s 5 reasons why I’ve started blogging again:
1) As an outlet
For the last year or so ive been keeping a personal log of my thoughts and ideas and have found that its a great way to destress and get things off my mind as well as progress ideas. I find that if I start to write about an idea I have, by the time im finished ive either settled on the best path to take or changed my point of view for the better. So I hope that by rambling about things on here I will develop and refine my ideas and blow off a little steam and stress.
2) To start conversations
It’s always nice to be involved in conversations, but its even nicer to start them. Hopefully after following point 1, I will end up with something interesting that will cause others to talk and join the conversation.
3) Share knowledge (hopefully)
I’ve always enjoyed sharing what I know with others as the gift of knowledge is one of the greatest things you can give. So over time hopefully I can give back to the community to make up for everything that I have learn from them.
4) To test the water
Since I have a lot of ideas and random scripts and projects that I work on and keep starting, it was really time to find a place where I could show them, get some feedback and share.
5) Learn to write
Yes i know this is a common reason why people say they start blogs, but it is kind of true. I haven’t written anything decent in years and I feel its time that I change that fact and develop my skills.
